Mrs May said some migrants had reached Britain through the Channel Tunnel, but did not say how many had arrived.

news just said thousands tried to enter the tunnel
did they just walk through
not sure if this can happen after all its about a marathon distance
its a couple of tunnels popping out of the ground
wouldn't it be easy to have some armed police like we do at airports
stationed around these tunnels to arrest them and return them to france

or for the more extreme members
a few SAS snipers sitting on the hills around the tunnel openings

for reference
I got stuck in France 2 years ago which cost me a couple of hundred euro's when coming back from Amsterdam due to migrants getting through a fence
seems its just getting worse

If they don't come through by the correct means it must mean that they are invading us and so a shoot to kill policy must be used on all invaders.

historically one of the arguments about having a channel tunnel going back to Napoléon is it makes it easier to invade
looks like they were right Thumbs Up

It's getting ridiculous. Every one who gets here and caught should be sent back irrespective. Anything else will just fuel the idea that we are the soft touch.

problem is we are a soft touch
watched a boarder documentary about the UK busting illegal workers
because they had no papers they were told to report to a detention center and let go
less that 5 % complied, the rest just moved on to other area's
one guy they caught over a 6 year period 5 times in different jobs in restaurants because they could not deport him as they had no positive ID
they had his fingerprints on record but no nationality, most likely he's still cooking curry's somewhere for half the national wage

Perhaps Mrs May should borrow Mr Johnson's new water cannons (that Westminster had already bought but weren't allowed to play with Laughing ) and take them over to France for a week or two.

It's hard to believe The French can't do away with the shanty town in dunes just a few yards from the fences.
They wouldn't be able to just set up a camp with semi-permanent shacks like that on the beach here.

They don't want to.

If you want someone to blame, blame the French, they're letting them through, they want them to be out of France and in the UK.

When they built that tunnel I knew that one day this would eventually be the case. They should flood it and go back to ferries.
The channel kept the Krauts out in the 1st and 2nd world war, we were mad to think joining the UK with France
by a tunnel was a good idea, our best defence was that we were an island... The chunnel literally undermines that.

I am normally very liberal but in this case fcuk em.

We should be giving the French an ultimatum. Either sort it within 48hours or we will post UK forces on the French side of the tunnel with a strict shoot on sight policy.

You mean... illegals, right? Not Frenchies in general? Thinking

To be honest, I'm amenable to either.

Why would the French care if we shot them? They just want to wash their hands of the whole thing.
Electric fences and CCTV is the best possible real world solution. if they want to stampede like cattle then
lets treat them as such.

I doubt they walk through, they just go in the tunnel which stops the trains from running then get arrested and taken back out. The migrants that come here do so by climbing in or on trucks. If you want to deploy SAS snipers you'll be wanting them on patrol on the roads to Calais and in and around the wider terminal area with CO2 detectors and thermal sights.

Just had some fresh out of uni hand wringer representing 'Migrant aid' on BBC Breakfast. She was telling us
how helpless they are voicing over footage of them giving the French the run around and pulling fences down to get
at the tunnel. I was shouting at the telly so much I never noticed the wife leave for work. Fucking apologist bullshit.
Again, didn't see any families there. Just dodgy looking young men who didn't want to be filmed.

They're not a solution though. It'll be £7 million today for new fences, and the French will spend 10 Euros on leaving gloves and wire cutters lying around next to the showers and phone chargers.

By the way...

Does anywhere else in Europe not only roll out the welcome mat, but then spend more money on bragging about it? Genuine question.

Do you imagine that anyone, ever, has walked up to Immigration with their hands out and said "Hello, I'm an illegal immigrant from Elbonia, please deport me." ?

If you put a welcome mat out for 'fugees, and employ people to categorise everyone as 'fugees, you shouldn't be surprised if the swarming hordes don't make any distinction. And I'm not surprised.

we seem to be playing a big hand in creating the problem of refugee's
most of them seem to be coming from places we bombed or played a major part in making unstable
and allowing racial suppression of one group over another triggering a lot more refugee's turning up on our doorstep

Yet none of these countries are adjacent to our wonderful island. Would they not seek refuge in a neighbouring safe country?
