As per the title really, does anyone know how I can change the direct debit details DVLA hold? My Google-fu is weak.

I sincerely hope it doesn't involve calling them. Confused

I don't know but wouldn't pay direct debit as I can't trust them not to screw it up.

Use the online service, log into it and tax it as normal with the new details.

It's a very good question in my opinion. Could you sorn on the last day of the month then tax it the day after with the new bank details?
Don't blame me if it doesn't work though....

Edited after a rethink - don't most banks transfer your d.d's if you're changing accounts? Just a thought.

Contact them

But as someone else hinted. If you have switched your account to another bank this will be taken care of for you.
If it is just for you then, if you don't want to mess around with the DVLA. Set up a Standing order from one account to the other to pay the DD.

They should then contact you before renewal and you can update the details then.

Thanks guys.

The reason is I'm switching bank accounts but I'm not using the 7 days switch service as it closes my old account which I'm keeping open for profit.

HBOS call waiting times are far too long to bother doing real banking with them and my phone is rooted so obviously I'm a security risk too. Laughing
