Greets Y'all

Does anyone have experience with tracking devices for bikes?
Any recommended brands or models?

It's not for insurance purposes more for peace of mind.

Cheers

I have used This Device for various tracking applications, and it's cheap enough if you want to experiment.

Basicaly, you send it a text message, and it replies with it's co-ordinates that you can lookup on Google Maps.

You can also send it a text message that turns on or off a relay, which you might find useful.

So you notice the bike has pissed off without you.
So you send a TXT to the SIM
And it TXTs you back it's 'present' coordinates?

(Same as my mates do. Sometimes they don't even txt back. Cunts)

The SIM sub is the main cost in this plan. Pay as you Go and top up as required?

It is interesting.

PS I hate Chinglish User Guides I think, Why the fcuk do they even try? I don't attempt Mandarin. Smile
I guess you hook up 12v supply to an ignition live and an 'always' 12v supply? Sorry for the pedantics but it's not dead clear from the destructions.

I don't actually have one on my bike, I use them for other things.

You only need a permanent +12v and earth (red & black wires) for the tracking function, but there is a small onboard backup battery that lasts long enough to send you a text if the main power is cut.

There are another two wires (yellow & white) that connect to the coil of a relay, but you don't need to connect them if you don't need to.

I use them with a giffgaff sim card, and a £10 top-up lasts at least 3 months.

There are plenty of sites where you can find clearer instructions, but I produce my own.

Try googling tk102 mini I recently bought on off ebay (they supplied the sim and £5 credit) it has a lot of tracking features and is quite compact. You can hard wire it into your bikes electric too if you buy the adapter.

There was a guide at some forum on how to install it etc can't find it atm
