We've just switched away from O2 to O2/Vodafone roaming SIMs via another provider.

Some employees want to buy their old phones (iPhone 5/Galaxy S4) from the company so I'd like to get them unlocked.

Unfortunately, now that their numbers have moved away from the original O2 SIMs to the new ones, O2 aren't being helpful.

What's the best way to get phones unlocked these days?

I rang the shop that have unlocked Blackberries for me in the past for a tenner but they said £40 and a couple of weeks wait. I have qite a few to do so that's an expensive option.

Thanks

Mark

You could try and get a code off ebay, somewhere like this, cheaper than £40. Can your new provider not do it? Maybe they could get O2/Voda to do it for them?

Giffgaff seems to have a rundown of places that'll unlock the S4: https://www.giffgaff.com/unlock/samsung-galaxy-s4-phone

The new provider has some agreement with Apple which prevents them unlocking iphones.

I managed to get o2 to unlock 1 phone so will have a go at aafew more tomorrow.

If you need some phones unlocked then let me know via PM and we can sort something for you. I have a mobile phone repair shop and can provide the unlocks for you. The iPhones will not need to be sent to me to be unlocked however the quickest way for the Galaxy phones to be unlocked is to have them sent to me and I unlock them and return them

"I recently commented on the underhand tactics of other companies yet left it anonymous in the hope it wouldn't happen again, I have now had yet another customer contact me saying that once again, he had contacted a customer by private message informing them that he/his company could do it cheaper. So if anyone that has requested a repair from Speedy I.T. receives a message from Mathew Culver or Prism Technology please let me know. In this day and age we all have to be competitive, but to do that is just a shame. To think that I have been fairly helpful to him since they reopened and for him to do that makes the saying "there is no friends in business" ring true."

So under handed that we do their repairs for them Wink

MY CMS label hasn't been changed because our web guy hasn't updated the website for months. Once we've changed server end of this month I'm going to be the one dealing with it. Not happy with the fact that it's redirected to a folder rather than in the root directory either

Your web guy

And I like the whole Avanquest malarky, cos that software aint shit in the slightest.

And the web guy's website looks like shit.

Lets have a look at the shop.

Out back is a table with a multitude of misc pc parts.
On the floor there are many flat screen TVs just sat there waiting to be fixed.
You are selling cheap and nasty shit eliquid bottles and tanks
half repaired sad looking phones on the counter waiting for a clever person to fix them.

But wait... there's more.

Your Facebook page.

Kinda defeats the point of being "24hr callout" if you are going to ask people not to expect a reply 24hrs a day.

You have no idea what "24hr callout" actually means.

No idea who pctechhelp is.... Also no idea what avanquest is either

People shouldn't expect 24hour replies on Facebook, there is a web form which redirects to a team specifically for the 24 hour call outs.
No PC parts are on the desk out back , and even if there were, what's the problem... It's a PC REPAIR shop!
TVs waiting to be fixed? More like TVs waiting to be collected by customers who have left them here Smile

Cheap eliquid bottles and tanks?

We have branded and non branded tanks including Kangertech stuff, and have Smok Air, Totally Wicked, Blue Star, iVape and Shisha Time eliquid...hardly just cheap rubbish

You may call me a cock, but I seem to know more about your website and what your "web guy" is doing than you do.... which is odd considering you are his "client".

And you call yourself a "Computer tech".

I know the website is crap, hence my previous post stating that I'm soon to be dealing with the website.

Stay longer than 52 seconds to speak to who you? I'm not that lonely that I'm just going to sit on live chat hoping someone will come online
