Binding brakes

My Yamaha xj6 failed its mot yesterday on worn rear brake pads and binding also on the rear. I have replaced the pads and cleaned the piston and i can see the piston retract from the back of te pad when i release the brake, but i can still hear it rubbing which i would a expect a bit, but i cant tell if it is to much or not. When rotating the wheel by hand i can feel part of the turn there is a tiny amount of extra friction but nothing major at all and you can't feel anything at all in the pedal. Would you expect this to pass its mot now, and is there any way of testing the amount of binding/rubbing before my retest?

I expect that will pass now. if the pistons retract slightly then it's working ok.

The fresh pads always need a bit of time to settle in. The disc is not brand new and it's curvy and the pad is perfectly flat.

It takes about 400 miles before my front brake gets alright, after I fit a brand new set of pads.

Funny thing about pads and MoTs.

My BMW bike details:

OEM Spec. Min. pad friction material 0.8mm

MoT Min. acceptable pad material 1.0mm

WTF?

I would replace before min but....

Reason for Rejection:
f.
(i) Brake linings or pads (other than sintered pads) less than 1.5mm thick at any point
(ii) Sintered brake pads less than 1mm thick at any point
