funny clutch issue

ok bike is a dr125, so same motor as a gn gs gz and a million chinese bikes.

ok symptoms, normally only does it when the bike is warm,
is i get a squeeky grindy noise wreeght (crow sounding) when i let out the clutch and basically a all or nothing bite from it.

initially i thought it was the brakes sticking, but that turned out to not be the case, and have narrowed it down to the clutch.

there is no slipping of the clutch, and ive confirmed this just now by measureing the steels and checking for any blueing,
i had bought a thrust bearing thinking it might be this, but the original seems good as well.
changed it any way,.


any other ideas before i close it back up.

Have you checked for excessive crankshaft end-float?

Are the slots in the clutch basket in good condition (no burrs)?

My money is on a thrust bearing.

Cheap to replace I guess.

You could try some grease spray on the bearing.
Wipe all the excess off and clash it together and test.
If it helps then the bearing is BER.
It probably won't last long but get you going until amazon delivers/you can sell the bike

yeah the basket was in good condition, plates are original and in good nick
thust bearing is all good but replaced as i had it to hand,
no play in the crankshaft or the bearing.

it doesnt really effect the bike when you are riding it, only when you are taking off,

its my temp commuter bike as some little fucker stole my ktm 640 supermoto a couple of weeks ago,
and this is the only bike i have currently not getting worked on/ insured.

its the bike i normally lend out to my mates so they can do their bike licence and have a wee bit of experience, before doing the full test.

its back together now, so will report back after work tomorrow

well its good as gold now, looks like it must have been the thrust bearing,
