Engine casings peeling lacquer

Whats the best way to make my bike look good again? Honda CB250 is the bike. I don't want to strip it down.
If its a case of painting it, what colour is the best match?
Any advice welcome.

Short of getting rid of the laquer and either re doing or polishing I'm not sure there is a very successful (easy) repair.

IMO painting, unless the engine is already painted as per RD250 black yam engines will look just as shit, if not worse.

Without stripping it down and doing the whole engine it is not going to look great.

If it is just lacquered alloy then you can try spraying a gloss lacquer straight on in small bursts. Won't look perfect but will stop any corrosion.

Just strip it and respray it, itll look tatty and off colour otherwise.

If it's not damaged in any way, get it powder coated unless your trying to colour match it to other parts of the engine.
I painted my gullarm casings silver but the rest of the engine was covered by fairings so it looked ok, there is a colour that is close to Honda casings but can't remember what it's called.

I've used Reflex Silver on Honda CBR cases and it looks ok.

Thanks for the response everyone.
I am reluctant to strip as the bike has only done 3250 miles but time has taken it's toll on the casings and fork legs.
I think I'll sell it as is.
