Painting a Fazer 600

...FZS. Would this be an expensive/hard thing to do? Any idea on approximate prices? I've seen a nice one, but it's in my least favourite colour

It'll probably cost more than you think to get it done professionally, and unless you're Mr OCD himself, you'll never get a decent finish at home with rattle cans.

Personally I think the silver is a good colour, should be easy to resell.

My ones blue. There's a silver one in the car park at work. Mine looks better.

The silver ones got a scorpion can on it, so it sounds better.

Pluses and minuses, don't really notice the colour when I'm riding it. Just buy the fecker and ride it.

Would swap fairings and screen with you if it was black mines a nice blue with a few 'age related' marks from where the previous owner dropped it otherwise look good when polished.

Very nice. I'm not usually a fan of coloured screens but that actually goes well. There's something very purposeful about the Boxeye's from the front

That you have "seen a nice one", and I am assuming you mean condition, state of maintenance etc. is worth much more than a colour preference on a questionable bike.

Yes, we would like to have it all, but sometimes it just makes sense to compromise a little, if your prospective purchase is a 'good un' it will be easy to sell on when the time comes for you to change it.

Exactly that. Excellent maintenance/MOT/replaced consumables....I've seen it mentioned mileage is far less important than service record on a bike

I paid about £500 for a bit of plastic welding and re-spraying of a ZZR 600 so I had mid-fairings and belly pan in addition to what's on the Fazer.

I had found some ZZR stickers on e-bay and had them applied before laquer so it looks as though it could be a factory job.

You'll need to drain and vent the tank (I took the filler cap off and the fuel gauge unit out which did the trick) and you'll be without the bike for a couple of weeks while it's done.

best to discuss what's being done, what needs masking (my fuel tap got painted ffs) so that you're both clear what is being undertaken.
