Is it ok for a starter to get honda cb1000r ? Or better go with cb650f ? Insurance vice and safety vice ? Waiting for you comments

if you aren't and can actually understand the terms "1/4 throttle" and "get used to it before running out of talent" then go for the bigger one.

If you've got the money, then get the CB1000R, you seem to like this one way too much to get a poor substitute of it instead.

in days of old i used to subcribe to the view that starting smaller was best,working your way up through bikes learning as you go.
i now hold the view that you should buy and enjoy the bike you want as soon as you can afford /get insurance on it.
why dream about r1's while trudging about on a bandit?
if you want a cb1000 then do it.
possible outcome.
1,you love it and have years of trouble free riding untill something else becomes your dream bike.
2,you get it and hate it or become scared of it.either way you wont ride it.
3.you get whatever bike you can and ride like a twat and smear yourself up the road .
4,you buy a sencible bike and forever dream of a nice bike you could have.

I would get a late hornet, like the one I used to fail my first DAS. Super happy bike super fun.
Then depending on the colour of your pants choose your next bike. Either big CB or NC700

Mate of mine's got a very nice - and recent - tri-colour one. Got some sweet clobber too - RST 2-piece, posh lid, etc. But can't ride for shit. Gets a bit demoralised when us guys on shitters get frisky. Kind of classic all the gear and no idea thing. I personally think he'd've been better off milking his er6 for more before stumping up good money on a bigger bike he's not confident with. Having said that he does love his cb thou - often catch him giving it proud little glances. So there's that.
