Might be worth checking your package (Fnar) online. I just looked at ours and there was an option to go from 120Mb to 152Mb for, wait for it, and extra 0.61p per month. Laughing couple of clicks and they are going to sort it all out Thumbs Up Might be worth Checking see if you have any upgrade options.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Just had a look, I can double my speed (up to 100mb) for £1.86* or (up to) 152 for £11.86

As tempting as it sounds, and even though it's such a small amount, I don't really make the most of it at the moment anyway

* for the first 6 months then an extra £2.50 on top of that

I'd be happy if my VM broadband just worked at the 50Mb speed it did when I moved in and had it installed, very rare I'll get a consistent 30Mb most days now. Can't moan too much though, I used to be the dick hogging all the bandwidth only a few years back.

What I really hanker for is more upload speed. 10Mb upload would be enough to stream everything except uncompressed Freesat TV streams across LTE/4G mobile on a good day... anything more than 1GB per hour file sizes and it's stutter city.

EDIT: Hmmm. To go from 50Mb to 100Mb would be an extra £7.50 a month, seemed like I'd a rawer deal than some.

They've blocked fuckloads, theres still some pirate bay proxies available tho., speeds are slow compared to Virgin (though they are atleast a bit faster now), the router fucking blows and drops signal out all the time.

As I said, fuck BT.

The weird thing is Plusnet are supposed to be a subsidiary(?) of BT but don't block anything.
Very little throttling too - and cheaper
Have to say I've been pleased with them so far, much faster in the evenings.
This is ADSL though, no sign of all this high-speed infrastructure investment here yet, we don't have any mobile cover at all either, let alone 3G/4G for miles.
(North York Moors).

Most of the supposed improvements seem to be based on spin, any funding seems to have disappeared into a black hole with any improvements negated by rationalisation elsewhere.
I notice looking at the coverage maps for phone they are now magically claiming most of this area has a service.
It looks like they averaged and smoothed the data so that the hilltops - where no one goes apart from two weeks in August - are the same as valleys where there is no signal at all - basically reduced the resolution - what a great trick, much better but no money spent.

If you go to the Alps or almost anywhere in Europe there seems to be good signal almost everywhere.
I guess there is often more infrastructure in place higher up they have used to advantage.
Here if they want a proper new mast on a hill there is uproar so they need 18 smaller ones dotted about, and preferably disguised as a tree.
