Two years riding 46bhp

Hello,

So I have a question about what bikes I am able to ride now. I have passed my bike test when I was 19, in 2013 July. Now I am 21 and have ridden my Kawasaki ER6F restricted to 46bhp for over two years now. Can I take the restrictor off now since I had it for two years and ride my bike without it?

You can apply for, take and pass the 'A' tests and then remove your restrictors etc.

Unfortunately it's not that simple. You can now retake your tests (mod1 & 2) on a compatible bike and get your full A license. I'd defo try and do the tests yourself, as your ER6 is a bike that you can use for your A tests once unrestricted, as it's over 595 cc and produces more than 40kw (roughly 54 bhp).

Before January 2013 you could just remove your restrictors and claim your full A entitlement after being restricted for 2 years.

Also fair play for having the will to keep your restrictors in for so long, every one I know on an A2 license has either taken their restrictors out or rides a 600 supersport unrestricted

Visiting the test center today and the training school instructor shares a story of how someone on a R6 rode up the road tapped some L plates on the bike, passed and then took them off and rode of into the sunset.

I mention this because previously I've been skeptical about that path however have come to the conclusion that DSA examiners can do absolutely nothing but refuse to let you take your test. Once you sign the deceleration that you're insured and legal I doubt they car beyond that, or even about that.

Just book em yourself.
