So all I want is to get my full license and then save up for a bigger bike so what the best option as I don't really know what all this module one and two is about I mean I've seen/watched people do it with all the cones then the mod two is on the road... So will it be just like the CBT but on a bigger bike because thats what it seems like... |
For reference, I've just done my DAS, and I did it in 3 days (well, more like 2½ really), and I don't learn this sort of stuff very quickly. (I spent most of the first day fighting the bike; after spending a couple of months on a CG the more-sensitive throttle on a FZ6 took a bit of getting used to.)
Mod1 is a bit like the offroad part of the CBT, but there are some new manoeuvers (some manual handling, a 30mph swerve, a controlled stop at a particular point). Since it's been a while since you did your CBT, it might be worth getting some cones (or, y'know, milk bottles) and finding a car park and practicing some slaloms and figure-eights on your 125, just to remember how they work. See here for the layout of the course. Don't forget (your instructor will probably tell you this) that you are on test until you've walked away from your bike at the end, so don't do everything perfectly then drop it parking up outside the test area!
Mod2 is fine as long as you keep your brain in your head. Make lots of obvious observations, be careful about your signalling, watch for speed limits, and don't make any stupid mistakes.
Good luck with it. |

Can't type, too busy laughing at that 125 / 33bhp comment. Oh MAG, why you so cray-cray? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Given the complexity of licensing and the ignorance about it (thaaaanks, MAG), I wonder how many folk are riding around inadequately licensed. Both deliberately and accidentally.
Still, given that the ignorance and errors extend to insurers, DVLA and rozzers, it's probably a fairly low risk hazard. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
