Just realised that I haven't seen a single wasp at all this year, not one of the little buggers.

Plenty about and have been peeling the fence panels since April.
Then they'll get hyper on the fallen fruits, then eventually very angry around about October.

Found this one morning. It didn't live long.

I must admit when you said that I was trying to remember when I last saw a wasp.

Usually when on my boat, drinking beer or wine the little buggers queue up to annoy me. Not this year though. Thumbs Up

I hadn't really seen any this year until I dared sit outside in the beer garden at a pub with a mate. Then we were plagued by the bloody things.

However, there were a couple of wasp traps set up nearby so we added some fizzy drink and watched the little buggers climb happily in there. Quite satisfying to watch them get annoyed when they couldn't get out.

Hateful things.

Done a load of them in during the last couple of days, strangely they all have all been relatively small ones, weather related ?.

I only realised that I hadn't seen any this year, when I saw one yesterday as it flew in the house through the back door. It didn't last long.

They are one of only two creatures that I'll purposely kill, the other being flies.

You'll see them all through the summer in fact, and not all over the UK. Some areas have no wasps. Thumbs Up

Found a nest inside the roof of our house a few weeks ago, behind some guttering.
When I say I found the nest, I found the hole they were getting through, but the nest itself was in a completely inaccessible place.

Donned some nice long thick clothing, gloves, full-face respirator and pulled my hoodie strings up tight, then climbed the ladder armed with a bottle of wasp killer powder.

Thought I may have to do a couple of attempts over a couple of days, but one go did the trick.

There were about 100 wasps flying around the hole that afternoon not daring to go in or near it... none there the next day and haven't seen any since.

They're proper evil fuckers, the number of times I've been stung for no good reason, minding my own business unaware of any wasps and the first sign theres one around is when the bastard stings me.

That's because they're carefully plotting their revenge.

I was at a rally last weekend, one of the bastards went for a swim in my pint and stung my lip when I accidentally drank it. I looked like I'd had some kind of Tesco Value botox job.

When the kids were tiddlers I used to hang wasp traps outside. Had to change them every couple of weeks because they caught so many.
Just used to half fill a bottle with jammy, squashy, sugary water and hang it on some string near the house. I decimated the wasp population for a year or 2 Thumbs Up

The thing that prompted that was seeing a wasp in the kitchen, land on the sunday chicken and cut itself a chunk off! plus one of the kids got stung about 4 times, when 1 got caught in his t-shirt. Evil, buzzy terrors!

Wasps are good as they eat the little bastirts that destroy our crops, flowers n shit.
Probably numbers are down due to weak summer.

Hasn't stopped them pesky greenfly chomping our flowers though. Little bastirts.
