So I got bored of my bike and let it rust away for a year in the rain. Started it up after a year and it runs fine but looks shite.
Thankfully there isn't much chrome on it.

The majority of the rust is mainly on the bolts.
So What is the best way to deal with it? Will it scrub away? or should I just paint them all some generic silver colour.

I don't really want to take all the bolts out and soak them in some magic rust remover crap; as I am fantastically good at rounding heads off.

If it's just the bolts, simply replace them. They're cheap enough.

Hopefully the rest is just surface rust and should scrub off with a bit of elbow grease. But really, you should sell that poor thing to somebody who will give it a loving home and a warm place to sleep.

You'd have to take them (the bolts) out to get them anything like so easier just to replace them.

Fine wire wool is good on certain things, also that Loctite rust converter.
