It would be interesting to ask the Icelanders in ten years time if they still feel quite so benevolent when they have a parallel society to their own dictating the laws and direction their country could well be taking.

Aye...because we all know that the Syrian Refugees aren't really escaping carnage......in fact they're here on the make It's such a wonderful place to live with so much opportunity and so much social cohesion and a great sense of community...not to mention the honest hard working government we have that really care for the population ......who wouldn't want to live here? Obvious really.

Old 'first safe country' and all that eh chaps? Can't see many trafficker boats making it that far....

If Iceland wants to let in Syrians as legal immigrants that is up to them, but following the international law of asylum they can't be asylum seekers unless by some miracle their place of first landing is Iceland

Something like 90% of them are in neighbouring countries like Jordan and The lebanon...the Lebanon are expected to have 1.3 million by the end of 2015 and are set to colapse under the strain. Trouble is brewing there and it could be next country to fall into revolt.....which would mean millions more refugees. The amount we've refused to take would work out about 10 people for each major town. If anyone thinks that will make a massive difference to Britsh way of life they're living on another planet.

To be fair I'd be in favour of sending aid to Lebanon to ease their burden. If we're paying for it anyway it makes much more sense to do it over there. Sharing a common religion, language and culture means it is far more suitable than UK.

How many are the UK wanting to take?? Germany started with a few, now all of a sudden they expect them to take in 800,000 alone THIS YEAR, around 1% of their total population

Our schools are already full, our prisons are already full, our hospitals are already full and there aren't enough jobs
to go around.
So let's bring in more more sick, more children, more unemployed and more criminals... Makes sense...
And just for the record, our society has already reaped enough 'reward' from it's immigration policies thanks very much.
For instance we seem to have TB thriving in Tower Hamlets again, but I suppose that's the fault of whitey as well.

But wouldn't that rely on willing participation by the 'refugees'. Unlikely since they appear to prefer to do as they
please rather than what they are told. We've already seen today what happens when they are refused
entry to Budapest station. The phrase beggars can't be choosers doesn't seem to translate into Arabic.
Greater numbers can only result in larger and harder to contain outbursts of unrest until numbers are so great
that we have no choice but to comply due to sheer overwhelming volume. I see very little to convince me otherwise.

The UK has exported terrorism to other countries through at least 2,000 UK citizens joining ISIS. So why don't we just take the same number........for now? If 2000 Syrians came to our country and started shooting and beheading UK citizens, what would peoples reaction be then? And yet that's what we're doing
