Apologies for starting another 'nicest bike' type thread, but I don't care...

I was working at a farmhouse today with a large garage and a barn. In the garage was a rather trick Mitsubishi Evo. The bloke asked me if I wanted to take a look and lifted the bonnet to show me a 600bhp engine with a block he'd made himself out of what I can only assume is billet. Turns out he owns an engineering Co. in the nearest town. "It'll be competitive when it makes 1200bhp" he tells me. He races cars as well.

I see an interesting item on a shelf. "If you can tell me what that is I'll show you what I've got in the barn" he says (but not in a gay way, you understand...). It was a 4 valve head with funny gear and 749 on it, so naturally I guessed a head from a Ducati 749. To his surprise I had correctly identified it, so he took me over to the barn.

Gobsmacked I was when he showed me - a Series D Vincent stripped of tinware to look like a Series C Black Lightning. The older amongst you will know what that is...

After admiring the machine of dreams I remarked that it must be worth a few quid, to be told "About £100,000, but I can't bring myself to sell it as it were me dad's".

Nice...

"Well, that's no problem, mate" says I, "just give it to me, then --- no questions asked."!
