That's "mainly" Germany's problem, and "mainly" down to extending the European free travel zone out the middle east.
The scale of it is compounded by a component of genuine refugees, but the land route would still be swarming by spongers by now either way.
France and the UK are getting the war-torn-Eritreans coming up through Spain. That's "mainly" down to not being robust enough early doors before the trickle there turned into a flood. Now the media are all over it and it's probably too late to treat it as what it is: a hostile invasion.
Sad times, best we can do now is expand the beachhead at Coquelles and if that fails, pull up the drawbridge in Folkstone and settle down for a long seige. Oo's for a sing-song then?

They were asking this on R4 this afternoon. Maybe not everbody wants to live there, esp Saudi Arabia. It's not the best place for women to live either by the sounds of things. It may not be too bad if you're born there but if you've grown up with certain privaliges, it may be a bit hard to give them up. I think most of the refugees are what some people would call "moderate" and it may be that Wahabism is a bit too extreme for a lot of Arabs. Besides, the Saudis won't let them in, you have to have a work permit if you're a foreigner, as soon as that expires, you get booted out. I think, just like Europe, a lot of the population view foreigners with suspicion and hate, no matter how desperate they are. If you look at the countries surrounding Syria, none of them are particularly stable, Saudi has a proxy war on the go with Iran, Yemen is in turmoil, Egypt is currently being ruled with an iron fist, Iraq we know about, Turkey is now at war and hate Syrians anyway, Sudan is seeing extreme poverty, Afghanistan and Libya are fucked up.....you can hardly blame these people for taking what appears to be the only route to anywhere they may be able to live a peaceful life.
I'd love to see what some of those moaning about them would do I suspect they'd lock themselves in the toilet and cry. ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Here we go with the "theys" again Is this every single person that has had to leave Syria you're talking about, or the entire Arab world? It's not very helpful lumping everyone with dark skin and speaking Arabic with the same brush IMO.
Did it occur to you that due to the amount of public scandals and acts of indecency by those in positions of power and fame in the UK, and it's continuous coverage in the press, using the same rhetoric, some Arabs may think all British people are paedos?
Ooh look...they shag kids in the UK:-
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/hay-festival/11641096/Number-of-paedophiles-in-Britain-will-shock-public-warns-Deputy-Childrens-Commissioner-for-England.html
"THEY come over here....THEY take our jobs, THEY rape our children, THEY sponge off the dole, THEY steal off our old people"...etc etc.
It's a tactic racist organisations use to cause division and stir up hatred amongst their followers with young, developing intelects.
The idea is to insinuate that by one person doing one criminal act, that everyone else from that country have the same morals. If that's the case, the UK must be a real den of iniquity. ____________________ Space Is Deep |

You can do what you like.......why ask me? |
I want to be sure that I'm being helpful.
On the hilarity:

What, all of them?
If that's the case, why aren't the war-torn-Syrians, Iraqis, Pakistanis et al walking through those "open doors" into stable Muslim countries and bringing those divine gifts to their brethren?
Positive stereotyping is still stereotyping. It may even... I hesitate to say it... be unhelpful. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

"The Messenger of Allah (s) further guides us by saying:
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should be hospitable with his or her guests.”1
Our great Prophet (s) teaches us to be generous and how to entertain guests. He wants a Muslim to show gratitude and be kind and happy when receiving guests. One should respect and welcome his guests, in particular when they are strangers, or have no family or friends in that country.
It may even happen that a guest comes while relatives or friends are being entertained, or other travellers are staying and there is lack of space; or you are unprepared and have few provisions or are even short of money. In any eventuality, guests who come to your home should be made welcome, shown respect and be provided with whatever food and drink are available. One should sit with them in order to make them feel comfortable and happy, and take care to pay great attention to them.
Surely, our glorious Prophet (s) guides us towards respecting guests and being generous towards them. In this respect, he says: “Indeed whoever believes that Allah is All-Generous, Who provides for His creation and rewards those who are hospitable towards their guests, should look after his guest.”
Surely, Allah will increase our provision if we welcome our guests and give them food and drink, and will reward us on the Resurrection Day.
Allah is All-Generous, who loves the generous ones and dislikes those who are mean." ____________________ Space Is Deep |

But you know, if she's a lone woman asking for shelter on a cold night you should tell her to GTFO because she might tempt you to commit zina the dirty bitch.
Skip to 2:45 if you wanna ignore the backstory. Essential this example of a very good and pious man sees the guest is a woman and shuts the door..... |
