I've ran Supercorsa SC2 rear and SC2 or SC1 front scrubs on my bike since June this year.

Pros:
-£50 a pair for a set (and sometimes £35 per set)
-In the two pairs I've had, they've never squared off (edges are pretty worn down when you buy them)
-Amazing when warmed up and it's dry. Best tyres I've had for dry riding.

Cons:
-Only last 2k miles per pair, even though I have them fitted for free, it's a bit of a ball ache.
-I know they're not amazing in the wet, therefore I ride like a vagina in the wet.

So, do I get another pair of Supercorsas, knowing the weathers getting worse, or do I get something more appropriate.

To confirm - I'm happy riding in the wet and in cold conditions with them, it's just not that fun as I have to restrict myself knowing they're shite in such conditions. But then the rare dry enough day crops up and I'm glad they're on my wheels & I do love them.

Do I get a pair of BT023's / Pilot Roads for like £170 a set or another pair of Supercorsa's for £50?

I might be being naive but I've never seen the benefit of super sticky tyres on the road, I push reasonably hard on 023s and have never had an issue from lack of grip.

2000 miles for £50 doesn't actually work out much better either, in my experience it's weight more than riding style that seems to have the biggest effect on the wear rate, on my relatively light cbr600f I saw about 10,000 miles out of the rear 023s (it was pretty low by that stage but still visible tread, with me riding mostly like a cock.

In comparison I charged through the rear in closer to 5 or 6000 miles on the divvy 900, still riding mostly like a cock.

Buy a set of cheap road tyres and put them on at the end of October. Swap for Supercorsas in April. I've done that for the last 3 years.

In the same boat at the moment - got racetecs on.

I'm gunna just keep riding them until they are fucked, then change to my BT023's as I will be commuting on the bike. Then maybe next year I'll buy a new rear racetec and run that in the summer again.

The racetecs are actually not as bad as I thought they would be in the wet. I did a wet trackday at brands and I was surprised with the level of grip. I've done other tracks in the wet in the past and they have been slippy as fuck on BT023's.

Testing them back to back in similar conditions I found the supercorsas often had better wet grip than some touring tyres!

If i'm honest, I haven't been ballsey enough to see if they are any good in the wet lol. I just assume they're not because of the lack of tread/water displacement (my boss only commented last week questioning whether the tyres were legal as they looked bald Laughing ).

I think I'm going to go for BT023's after reading some old thread's on here. Everyone who's had them seems to like them and they get decent enough miles. They also work out around the same price as Supercorsa's. BT023's are £158 delivered from Oponeo and may last me 6k miles, so only £8 more than a pair of SC's. Then when the weather gets better i'll pop some super corsa's back on.

It looks good on the insurance claim form.

Question 01 Reason for crash.
Answer: I was trying to find the limits of my tyres in the wet. Shocked

Very Happy

I want the same tyres Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo used at the weekend.

Unless there's a significant amount of standing water, I'd expect this to be the case too. Those splines in the tyre aren't directing water unless there's enough of it on the road to move, and when the conditions are that bad, you tend to back everything off a bit anyway. Never had an issue with my Dunlop GP212s (road legal TT race tyres) sliding in the damp/drizzly conditions we get all the time.

The biggest problem you're going to have with the scrubs is when it starts to get colder and you can't heat them up. My BT014s would just not heat up in 0-5 degree conditions, I couldn't get them even lukewarm and as a result you could wheelspin the bike by looking at it strongly.

What I would do- Buy a bead breaker (£25), a balancer (£20) and a tyre lever (£12) so you can fit your own tyres. Then I'd buy a set of PR3 or PR4s and put them on about october/november time. They'd wear so little that when March comes round you can put your corsas back on and keep them for next winter. Even part worn PR3/4s if available, might work out cheaper.

Brother has the equipment to do a manual tyre change and wheel balancer and changes my tyres for me for free & has been for the last few months Thumbs Up

Decided on BT023's for now and will pop Supercorsa's back on in Summer.

They're not bad when it's wet, standing water is lethal, as is the cold. Any sort of frost, I'd rather be on Avon Ditchfinders.

Sauce: riding Racetecs in December.

I've swapped my supercorsa SP's over to M7RR's for the 'winter'. Would'nt use track rubber on the road myself, but each to their own. I got 4k on the front and 3k on the rear on the supercorsa's, with just road riding on my daytona 675.
