I have a Hornet f4 that currently has Pilots on it but needs a new rear tyre.
Someone has just gave me Pirrelli Diablo Rain front tyre. So cheap option would be buy a matching rear and get a new set of tyres for half the price
The thing is I dont really ride much in wet weather so would these tyres be good enough in dry weather or should I just buy a rear Pilot
I am not a knee down type rider but want to feel confident going into corners and that is nearly always in dry conditions |

Its a track only tire, so its not designed for any dry riding and a matching rear is probably expensive. I imagine it will wear very quick on the road. If you have a spare bike to use for wet weather/snow/winter it might be ideal
Rear tire I would check ebay, Ive had quite a few good part worns with almost full tread under 50 quid. Also fit them yourself Fronts dont have much tread new so buying a part worn is rarely worth it.

The race wet will be destroyed in no time in the dry, it also likely has 'NOT FOR HIGHWAY SERVICE' stamped in large letters on the side, so good luck if you get pulled by plod or have an accident.
I've gone out in the pouring rain on race wets on the road, but only to test them out for a couple of miles. Using them in the dry, they do this:

They're also not great to ride in the dry anyway, they squirm around due to the chewing gum compound mentioned above. |
