Long story short, I've found something I want on eBay(some of my plastics are somewhat tatty, Seller won't ship it. Is anyone nearby with enough free time to maybe collect it, package it and then organise shipping to Edinburgh? I will cover costs and buy you beers.

This is the item

Why will they not post? You can get courier services now were you can drop off the parcel at a local shop rather than having to wait in for them.

Maybe offer the seller more money?

Most likely because they don't have the necessary time and or materials to pack everything safely? Rolling Eyes

Possibly, or it could be another reason.

He's concerned they will get damaged in the post, which is fair...But with enough packaging it'd be fine i'm sure.

Worst thing is, I don't even want the tank, just the tail etc.

Have you looked at pallet delivery services?

If you want to ask someone if they'll post something they've already said specifically in the description that it's "collect only" then you do that before bidding.

I didn't buy it, I asked him beforehand and he wasn't up for it so I didn't bid.

I'm looking at a solution here where I can sort something, PM him with a plan and see if he'd consider playing ball.

Sometimes in the past I have put bulky items on ebay such as car parts that I have specified collection only. Okay you are limiting your potential market and may not get quite such a top price, but the time and trouble saved by not having to package stuff up, wait for a courier, then be expecting your buyer to moan that the item has arrived broken or just because it is the second hand item that they bought (as advertised with minor flaws) etc. By insisting that the item is collected, it takes a large element of potential comeback and complaint out of it especially as ebay favours the buyer mostly.

Absolutely! I understand his reasoning, which is why i'm willing to take responsibility for it and trying to organise someone else to do the packaging for cashdollars.

It's just a bit unfortunate that it's the only set i've found available for bloody ages.

I notice the auction has ended now, if he hasn't sold them he might be more willing now.

I'm sorry I can't offer to help. I only have the bike.

Naaaaah.... You've fcuked up and asked this shower of mental cases for advice. They can't help but give you a load of tripe about the seller and the buyer but not much in the way of THE BLOODY FAVOUR you asked for IN THE TITLE OF THE THREAD. Rolling Eyes

FFS. argumentative cnuts.

OP. If I lived in Where-ever-the-fcuk it's at, I would drive around pick up the thing and post it to you. Just out of spite for the rascals on here. Razz

This forum is like a kindergarten with all the bickering. And they have the cheek to slag off Mum's Net. Smile
