Got this over the weekend BMW R1100RS just north of a grand. From a member on here. Hopefully will have more luck, it's got an alarm and an Almax with a decent lock to go with it.

Not everyone's cup of tea but should serve me for a bit. Does need a clean up and a few things doing to it suit my riding.

Weight is about 280 wet but it feels just like riding my old CG125. Which has been quite amusing so far.

Too powerful for my licence and I wanted something decent to still tour on. Plus it's got a chain. I'm addicted to the calmness of the shaft.

This BMW weighs about 270 wet and feels just like a CG125 when riding.

The forks, are they solid or just really long legs Shocked

Cantilever suspension, the legs are just there for stiffness, the traditional stanchion looking part is at the top.

The R1200GS but the same setup -

Shit man didn't know your other beemer got stolen! Must've missed that thread. How heavy was that compared to this then? Also have you written the ER off? Anyway, glad you've got a replacement. Just fitted a lock on my garage - won't stop anyone too determined, but hopefully with the car up close it might keep 'em out.

Yup the k100RS got stolen on the 29th and I think I may have possibly stumbled upon it via face book burnt out. I was wondering why the police have closed the case, not told me anything about it and have tape all over the burnt out bikes.

IF it is it's rather nice as the police were told about it riding around the streets two days on the trot.

The ER5 on the other hand was written off by my neighbour in her 4x4. There was about 4 foot clear visible gap behind her 4x4 and she reversed into it; apparently she didn't see it. That has been sorted now.

I approve of this replacement choice because reasons.

Now dismember anyone who so much as touches it without permission. Very Happy

Can you genuinely tell any difference? (Wouldn't the calmness come from the engine rather than the shaft/chain?)

I thought shafties were all about the lack-of-maintenance.
