My 16 year old brother was telling me all about how the girls of his age are all starving themselves to achieve
'thigh gap' while he was working with me during the hols, and also even I know that the jeggings are in fashion.
Mrs Grr wears them a lot so I guess it's normal for girls to follow the current trend. But wearing them as an indicator that
you are slimmer than the next girl shouldn't be allowed. It doesn't take much to get females obsessing over
body image. It will get to nearly all of them anyway eventually on some level but school is no place for
an 'I'm slimmer than you' contest, they will be cutting themselves and puking next. It all starts somewhere.

This thigh gap thing is really ugly.

Girls with legs that skinny are just going to look emaciated, it's weird.

Also I sort of kind of agree with the teacher sending them home. I have a feeling the real issue is about the young kids being far too precocious for their own good, focussing on things like super-short skirts and 'thigh gap' instead of, well, growing up, making real friends, having a good life, etc.

School uniform is supposed to prevent students from being judged on fashion and looks. So although it might seem a bit much to be sent home, it also kind of makes sense if a pupil is blatantly trying to make themselves stand out, specially in a sexual way.

Shirley (oh yes) the one group of people who judge women the most harshly is other women.

Men don't really care or want these so called 'perfect' bodies. Boobs, legs and asses are great but be honest, it's pretty much *any* boobs, legs and asses attached to women that's what men like. We're not actually that fussy.

You've heard the phrase "You don't look at the mantlepiece when stocking the fire" - That pretty much sums men up, we're not going to look at someone and say "oooh, thigh gap on her isn't very big, don't fancy that" we're more interested in their child bearing hips.

I don't think it's a modesty thing, just trying to keep the thigh gap craze out of school. It's not healthy for kids
so young to be starving themselves to look a certain way. The school can't control what happens outside the
gates but it can say what's allowed and what isn't within them.
