TL;DR Bruv brings home his latest girlfriend, and I am eventually told she's moving in - just as we're trying to conclude sale of this house, and so at a stressful time anyway. I tell bruv I'm not happy with her being in the house when we're both out, as I don't know her at all, and he hasn't known her for more than a month or two. Am I being unreasonable?

So, bruv and me are selling this house. We have a sale agreed. One of the conditions, from the estate agent, is that we move to ONE property (as bruv is staying local, I'm moving up north - waiting for two separate house purchases to happen over-complicates things). So we agree that I move in with him while I find my own place, which looks to be done now anyway, so hopefully won't take long, maybe a few weeks, hopefully not more than a couple of months.

Then, about a month ago, bruv brings home some bird who he's now seeing. At first I think, oh she's just stopping over for a couple of nights, no problem with that. After a couple of weeks, it's obvious it's more than that. Now, I know my own bruv, and I start thinking, next thing is he says she's moving in, and I get no say in the matter. Not even consulted and asked what I think. So this, perhaps more than the fact she's here at all, pisses me off. And sure enough, after about another week, I'm TOLD she's staying, she's got nowhere else to go.

Now, bruv gets through a few girlfriends, they soon suss out he doesn't really think much about anyone else (I may well be similar, but in my defence, I don't inflict myself on others).

My thoughts keep coming back to, what a time to do this! Couldn't he at least wait until we've moved to his new house, then what goes is up to him? More stress I don't need at what is a stressful time anyway, especially as me and bruv don't get along too well under the same roof (I've been trying to be at least cordial until we've finally managed to go our separate ways, and I haven't argued with anything much he's decided to do, although he never asks what I think, if it affects me).

Today, I asked him where this woman is going to go when he's at work on earlies starting next week. Oh, she'll be here, but don't worry, she won't be in your way. So I am afraid I said I'm not happy with her being here when we're both out. In fact, I went so far as to say that she has to be out when we're both out (it's not like I'm out a lot at the present time anyway). He doesn't see my concern. So I asked him how long he has known her (knowing full well that his last girlfriend ditched him barely 5 minutes before he brought this one home). He wouldn't answer that question no matter how many times I asked, but did his usual trick of just shouting me down. Then he starts trying to blackmail me over the conditions we agreed about me moving in with him temporarily. So then I had to remind him that if we didn't move to the same property initially, this whole house sale will fall through - was he willing to jeopardise that for someone who to me is a complete stranger, and to him, apart from shagging her, is not much more.

In short, in the heat of the argument, I told him he was thinking with his prick.

Am I being unreasonable? All I am asking is that she not be allowed in, or have access to, the house on her own, when neither of us is there. With any luck, it'll only be for a couple more weeks anyway. But then I think, well, if it's only a couple of weeks, perhaps I'M the one being unreasonable? I have to admit, I am sick to death of bruv doing things that affect me, without even asking me about it first, not to mention his high and mighty attitude, and maybe I just had to let off steam?

What do you think? Is this all just about the bits I've highlighted in bold? Or do I have a reasonable complaint? Go on, hit me with it Laughing (although serious attempts at answering would also be appreciated).

His house, his rules. You're just going to have to like it or lump it.

BTW What's wrong with thinking with your prick?

Yes, I had accepted that when we have moved there, which we haven't yet.

Serious question. Is the new bird way above his usual standard standard either looks wise, status wise or both
or has he confided in you that she's dynamite in the sack? Or does she have a rarely found unusual attribute, like
for instance super massive baps, ultra long legs or a mega pair of lips? (even a slightly less hairy back counts if he's
usually found hanging out of the back of modern day Neanderthal women)

She needs her eyes opened. I suggest leaving the bathroom door open whilst shaving your ballsack stood over a mirror.
This may not work so I've found that using the toilet seat as an ironing board gives better results.

Hold on in there Mr.

As Raffles said, you will be in his house, so it is his rules.

If you separate out all the other issues of the present house sale and your impending purchase (I expect things are pretty fraught anyway), he's about to embark on the next stage of his life. Whether or not the woman is suitable or right for him is irrelevant, it is his life and the offer of a warm body every night is too good for him to turn down even if it affects you.

The unfortunate part is that your purchase can't be synchronised with his.

My suggestions are either of these,

You stay at home as much as possible once you move into his place, which will piss her off but more importantly give you peace of mind about your stuff/security.

Or

Find a temporary place/sofa/floor/field for the few weeks until you get your place.

He is being a bit of a prat, but then you don't know what sort of emotional blackmail she's putting on him if she's saying she's got nowhere to go.

You can't dictate his, or her, behaviour, and you've got no leverage as he's putting you up, not the other way round.

Get on to your own solicitor and make sure he/she pushes for your purchase to complete ASAP.

The sooner you're living oop North, the better!

Edit: or ignore the above and follow HT's advice......chortle Very Happy

Ah feck it. I probably should have just put up with things for a little longer. But I am going to change my diet. I will now be eating many more curries, baked beans, cabbage etc. Perhaps not something that will improve the, ahem, atmosphere much, this will continue for the short while I'm living at his place. Sorry, getting old, can't help it Twisted Evil

Also @ Pat, I'm not a pretty sight undressed anyway, as she may shortly find out Razz

Actually, this could turn out to be a whole bunch of fun!

Don't worry. She will eventually tire of him and find another sucker to spin her sob story to.

Lock your room till you move.
And yeah, leave your balls (shaved or unshaved, I care not a jot) hanging out more often.

Never get in any argument with or about a girl as you will never win. She will always win no matter what side she is on.

Hmmm, curried sprouts, now there's a thought...

No, a step too far I think. I'll just stay with conventional weapons for now. The fallout would just be too great Sick

Well, for the first time since this started, bruv didn't bring her home last night and has gone off to work this morning, and still no sign of her. He hasn't said a word to me since the argument.

I'm preparing myself for a rough time when we actually move Rolling Eyes

Part of me thinks, well there you go, she did have somewhere else to go. And another part of me thinks, was I just plain mean??

Ah well, it's done now; whatever happens, happens. Still, maybe now my shreddies will last a bit longer Smile

Maybe that would be the best thing right now. We've got maybe 2 or 3 weeks to clear a pile of crap out of the house and get organised before the move - well, according to the estate agent anyway. Bruv keeps saying he'll get this sorted, and get that sorted, but then was either off with his new bird, or away on weekends doing his music/band thing. In my view, now is the time to put all that on hold, get the priorities right, and crack on with getting organised at home. I mean, it's only a few weeks, then he can get on with whatever he wants.

Jeez, but I'll be glad when all this shit is behind me!

On the upside, I now have had an offer accepted for a property, and have engaged a solicitor to handle the purchase; at feckin long last! Very Happy

Or if you're too busy maybe I could do it?
