First off, you only need to post your question in one place .

Secondly, you may as well piss into your fuel, both just dilute it.

yes, they are fine to add in, careful how much you put in.

Some vehicles it doesn't make a difference at all, most motorbikes, especially carb ones benefit equally from an Italian tune-up in terms of cleaning.

Had an old, almost classic car that benefited from lead substitute being added which had obtain boost (picked up the wrong one) and it did seem happier on it. Newer engines probably won't care so much.

You can get this

to this

https://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq9/Nobbythechihuahua/exup%20rebuild/20150901_193344_zps5qgggha0.jpg

without stripping the engine and without putting snakeoil in...

Get the engine hot and then spray water into the carb/FI inlet....

I've heard about this a few times and always thought it was a spray bottle and a couple of squirts.... there's a few videos on youtube and in 1 there's an Indian chap pouring water from a bottle straight in to the carb Shocked (OK he was pouring it slowly.... but daaaaamn)

Personally verified?

I've got an open mind on it, for a wonder.

I was told by a respected engine tuner that engines which use water injection tend to be very clean in the combustion chamber.

My car has water/methanol injection and (...after splitting a cylinder becausetoomuchboost...) it's last rebuild showed it to be very clean inside... So could be true.

I see no contention there, if you're spraying water your engine is (or should be) right on the ragged edge of it's operating conditions, EGT's up in the 8/900's. Not the same as holding the revs up on the centre-stand and spraying it in with a trigger bottle.
