I plan on removing my speedo and replacing it with a GPS one. I am fairly sure as long as you have a speedo of some kind that it will get you past an MOT as I know plenty of people who just have sigma speedos fitted. Just want to be 100% before I remove the speedo /odometer etc.

Cheers

Dave

I dont know how the GPS bit will fly as the Sigmas have a direct sensor on the bike.

Go buy a 4 quid bike speedo from halfords and fit for the MOT.

Hi

Think you technically need a perminant record of the mileage, but I suspect many MOT stations would overlook this.

All the best

Unsure on that one Keith... but it may just be I got lucky with the 2 places I used...

I got around a broken speedo with my old 125 by removing the speedo and painting lines on my rev counter for relevant speeds in 5th gear..

It was passed by 2 separate garages in the 2 years that I owned it.. and neither commented on the lack of speedo..

Best bet would be to give the MOT station where your taking your bike a ring and see what they say...

Hi

Thinking about it the speedo is not an MOT checked item, so it could well be that although it is something you legally must have it is also something that they cannot fail you for not having on an MOT.

The marked rev counter is definatly not legitimate.

All the best

Keith

I have a sigma as well, so I could fit that for my MOT, or worst case scenario; I have to re-fit my original speedo for my MOT next year.
