Hi!! 2007 cbr125 v newer cbr 125

Hi to all I've decided to get into biking again. I have 2 years experience years ago riding a 125 (i'm 38) And I passed my car test in 96. But I'm really rusty as not been on the road with anything for 6 years. Being sensible I'd thought I'd get a 125 for say 6 months before getting a bigger bike.

I can get a 2007 cbr125 1 owner 2000 miles full history for 1600 or the newer face lift modal 2012 10000 miles for 2300

My question is even though I want the newer modal is it really worth the extra cash ??? (money is fairy tight)

It's all well and good being sensible but sensible is probably going to be a waste your time when, maybe a week or two later you get bored of wobbling around on said 125 and wished you'd put your money into a larger more stable bike you can grow into.

If you need a refresher, talk to your local bike school and maybe take a day or half-day instruction.

I really wish I'd held off on buying a 125 and kept the cash for a larger bike for when I passed my test, but needs must at the time.

Now I've come to sell it, its the wrong time of year and I have to deal with cheeky feckers and piss poor offers.

I did my CBT May 2014, got an 07 CBR125 and then got my full license in November.
Wish I hadn't bothered with the 125 to be honest, it became frustrating in a short amount of time and once I was on a bigger bike, the virtues of more power and more stability, fast became apparent.

If you already have experience, as was mentioned before, do a refresher and then get ya full test done, you'll be glad you did

Thanks for all the reply guys. Not been back to see them and already bought the 125. To be fair though my question wasn't should I get a 125 but wether the newer cbr125 was worth the extra cash but appreciate the advice anyways. Think I went this route cus I'm a chicken and not been on the rd in any form for 6 years lol Be able to sell it for what I paid mind so no worries. But dont feel too sorry for me as I've been using the bus for the last 6 years so going to be having lots of fun!

go and spend your money on getting the full license.

What do you plan on doing when you get a bike? Is it for fun? Is it to pop down the shops for bread and milk?
