I do agree about the circuit as it is now.It has lost a lot of its character.

I remember being able to blag my way onto the circuit back in 1982 at the Dutch TT and got quite a few laps in together with a few locals.That was when it used to go out into the countryside and under the motorway.
By 1984 they had shortened the circuit considerably but it was still possible to talk our way onto the circuit for a few fun laps Very Happy

I still think, as far as atmosphere goes, it's one of the best circuits to go and watch at. Was there for the BSB at the weekend, sat in the covered grandstand on the start/finish (for free), watched the fun on the chicane and got deafened by moto3. A better experience that a lot of circuits over here.

Take Silverstone for example, now that really is ZZZzzzz to watch at. 15 minutes up the road from me and I will be at home watching on the telly for the BSB round there.

Yeah the chicane's great to watch, I mean the tight right-handers at the end of the start and finish straight. The left hairpin on to the back straight used to be quicker and cambered as well.

Has anyone here been to Le Mans? That's a GP I'll have to do at some point.
