Hi, I recently got this vehicle (DKW 505p) and try to get it back on the road. I repainted it and looks nice. but there are still some motor problems that I have. when I drive about 11km she loses her strength and she dies. I can keep her running by giving a little bit of gas and then it drive's about -20kmp/h. any idea what this could be? could The cylinder/piston/rings be worn out? and then my second problem, if it is hot and you shut her off for more than a minute she will not start anymore. The third problem is that she stops if you stop at a red light. i can still start her but she is always does that. I've put the revs as high as possible so that the clutch just makes contact. but it still happens.
(the gas tank is always full with these problems and the carburetor is clean.) oh and the engine is a sachs 505 50cc

ok so far that were the problems.
now i have a few questions.

which is the ratio of the gas/oil mix? At the moment I use 50/1 petrol mix
does somebody know if there is a plastic cap for sale from the carburetor side?
and an original/reproduction rear/front light of this moped.

that was it. advance thanks for the answers.

When it loses power, have a look at the contac breaker points.

I had a very similar moped (a tomos) and the points used to stick if I went on a longer run.

If that fails, I would probably change the sparkplug, plug cap, points and condenser as a first step.

50:1 would be a minimum. Is there nothing engraved/stamped on or under the fuel filler cap?

i can see a sticker of sorts under the fuel filler yes, but the previous owner allso painted over it. so it's not visible anymore.
and i'm too scared to ruin the paint now :s
