I've just come across the Riders Digest site - not seen anything else posted about it. It's a motorcycle website but also a magazine you can download. (and by that I don't mean it's just a copy of the site). Articles read like they've been written buy adults.
No affiliation, just looks interesting and has some good articles. ____________________ Honda CBF125 ➝ NC700X

A curious mix of old and new. I and many others used to pick up copies of the paper magazine, free, at High Beach tea hut and other places around London years ago. The magazine was originally aimed at London couriers, but gained a more general popularity among bikers as something to read when stopped at their favourite biking haunts.
Dave Gurman's "Carin' Sharin' Chronicles" is a compilation of articles from the original issues, and is well worth a read. I notice that some of those articles are now appearing on this site. It would be good to see some new ones too, if he has anything new to write about. I miss this kind of stuff from the bike magazines too. Peter Watson used to do a good regular column in "Bike" magazine years ago, along similar lines - humourous but on subjects you could relate to as an everyday rider. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Gosh, yeah, years ago it used to get handed out in Great Marlborough Street where all the couriers hung out in the West End
Not seen it for ages.
Thanks for the link! ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Hmmm, might pop into Oxford later and check Gurman's theory of "Darren and the boys from the bollocks department" from the "Fatal Attraction" article - nothing better to do today ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Lol - I only read one article and guess which it was |
Exactly what I thought all the blokes (well, most, not to be discrimanatory) would do - well, we've all been there, distracted by a short skirt....stocking tops....diaphanous dresses in the sunshine...haven't we?
And I know I have, today, in Oxford; most distracting. It's good to be distracted. Mmmm, yes, very, very good ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Hopefully not distracted to the point that good friend of mine was back in the late eighties!!!
He parked his old Triumph Bonneville in the back of a car and went through the rear window, ending up on the back seat...the driver of the car had also slowed down to admire the view....luckily no charges were pressed as it also happened to be the back of a Police Panda!!! |

No, was being careful; parked up, grabbed a coffee and sat outside watching 'the world' go by
Gotta say, my particular version of Darren has never been so desperate for a view as to charge around the block to try to catch a second look...yet! ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017
