Cannot find a service manual

I bought a bike around 3 weeks ago and was hoping to do all the services myself. But after around 2 weeks of searching I have found nothing online.

I have seen a couple of videos online of people doing services on the bike but it looks like they are learning as they go. The bike I have is a Lexmoto ZSX (I know Chinese). Anyone know where I could find a service manual for this particular bike?

All I have found out so far is that it seems to be the exact same bike as the (apart from engine size)
Zongshen zs 150
AKT RTX 150
EVO R3 150

But cannot even find manuals for those!

Out of interest.. does the ZSX make you feel like you ride a super duke? Rolling Eyes Thinking

I just searched google "lexmoto service manual" fourth link down gave me this. IMO it's a good job that no one but you will ride the bike you service, hope your better at mechanics that searching the interwebs.

The 1290 super duke is just the bike I like and hopefully one day can own.

Pretty sure that link you sent me is actually not for my particular bike...the first place I looked was the lexmoto website. Think that particular book is just for the older models.

Haynes manual 4871.

It's a generic chinese manual that covers all lexmoto bikes rather than model by model, I've linked the manual you need either buy it or keep searching for something that doesn't exist, I don't mind either-way.

PS; I also own a lexmoto bike and own the manual. Laughing

I may as well download a free manual online for another bike then if that is the case.

You may as well, they're all parts-bin specials. The only thing that might be unique to your bike is the wiring harness, so you'll want to download buy a basic multimeter.

I also expected a model specific manual when searching for one but settled for the 4871, it is handy and is nice to read through and look at to get an idea of how things work and what needs doing but isn't the holy grail of maintenance by any means, I wouldn't follow it step by step as other owners seem to have differing opinions on haynes suggestions on the way things should be done anyway.

The problem with lexmoto bringing in all these new re-badged models is the lack of information that come with them I think of the owners as guinea pigs and wouldn't touch a newly imported model for a while yet. I appreciate the ZSX has been around a little longer than say the ZSB, Venom etc but still the owners seem few and far between. Arrow and Vixen seem the proven granddads of the bunch with the most owners.

Depends what you want to know how to do.. there's plenty of information about chain adjustment, oil changes, clutch adjustment, valve clearances etc around without needing to spend money on a manual to find out about. Anything more difficult is worth asking about before hand anyway, nothing youtube, google and BCF can't answer I'd imagine.

It is a shame each individual bike does not have it's own manual, especially the older models. It could even potentially earn Lexmoto more money as people may be more likely to buy a guide knowing that they are getting a guide that is going to actually have the correct information on their bike.

I understand that buying such a new model is not the best idea as I was originally going to buy the venom but decided against it as it could have a problem that can show up in a months time or a year or even longer. But even bikes like the YBR can have that same problem.

Suppose that is what happens buying a foreign bike, it is harder to find information on it in your language.

The costs of preparing a specific manual would dwarf any profits they'd receive from it. These things really don't sell in big numbers.

Fret not though, they really are pretty generic and a universal guide will be fine for most purposes.
