Advice on my first bike please

Hi,

I'm new to biking and new in UK - just moved to London 2 months ago Wink I recenty started new job, and I need a commuter bike due to a lack of public transport and late hours in the place where I work. I have already found nice little ninja for sale but urfortunatelly I was refused the loan because I'm here only for 2 months Sad The only option now is to buy it for money I have now, so my question is, how mouch do I have to spend to buy any commuter, quite reliable bike? Is £500 going to be enough (only for the bike)? Any advices please, I'm affraid to buy from private sellers, but I guess I have no choice now. I have full motorcycle EU license.

500 quid is a bit low for a decent reliable bike. Look to double it and you'll get something OK

Thank you for quick replies Very Happy What kind of bike should I go for for £1000 to be reliable commuter? 125, 250, 500? Is GS500 going to be a good choice? Although I have full motorcycle licence, I think it's better not to buy anything bigger than 500cc Wink
