For Thursday, basic for some but I guess I'll get nervous come Thursday, I hope it's good weather, just be on a 125 scooter so hopefully pick it up quickly

Do you have any experience on the roads? And/or bicycling? Take the opportunity to get as much of either before Thursday. Cycling especially will help, particularly as the brakes work the same as on a scooter.

Don't sweat, have a laugh,and remember that you're paying for training, not for some failed traffic copper to shout at you like a drill instructor.

Scooters are dead easy, the hardest thing to get the hang of first time is the clutch and gears, which scooters don't have. I'd suggest dressing slightly too warmly for the weather since wind blast out on the road can be a chilly surprise.

Enjoy it is the main thing.

I did mine last month with no previous experience at all. I was nervous but really enjoyed it. I did mine on a Honda CG125 so had gears and clutch to learn too. It rained all day and that didn't bother me in the slightest.

Agree with the wind though, especially around your neck under the helmet, can get a bit chilly.

The experience I have on the roads are limited to buses and cycling so I will take all your advice on board cheers loads, I was only told to bring my license and a pack up haha, jeans and boot's I'll be wearing with a jacket but it zips up so here goes, I'll definitely enjoy it though will have nerves at first but like you say it's training and not some copper shouting, no gears should help

remember you paid too get trained to the legal minimum requirement to validate your provisional requirement.

try to enjoy it, also remember it's not an examination but a training session, if you have any question's or are uncertain about something ask your instructor.

it's your money, make the most of it!

beyond the above, try to enjoy the experience, and if your brain begins trickling out your ears, bring some tissues

I really enjoyed my CBT. It had been a while since I'd been on a bike and I learned alot when I thought I was already ok, as everyone's said trusting the instructors as they do this all the time and I don't know better.

As a group we had a great day, we all progressed fairly quickly and felt much more confident by the end. Tackling my DAS I used much of the advice I'd be given on the CBT, particularly breaking and junction work.


Contrasting this, I did a CBT about 5 years ago with another local school who no longer trade....day was mostly drinking tea and "instructors" swearing about traffic coppers. Didn't learn anything I want to retain and the whole day was intimidating and didn't set me up to do well with DAS that time round.

Well yesterday went fantastic, I passed with flying colours and had a brilliant day to be fair, only trained on a Honda vision 50cc but still did the roads as you would any other bike, I'm from Hull and was taught at RSJ+a Motorcycle training in Dunswell, I can't thank the team enough they was friendly and understanding, got 8 days at work then I'm off to go buy a scooter! After a 125cc can't wait to get back riding
