So I've just got an old but new to me motorbike, a 2000 ZX6R, but it's not as easy as the old CRF to just put it in first and ride it up the steps and over the lip of the conservatory door, so I need to really keep this outside in the garden.

Has anyone got one of those metal sheds like one of these...

Are they secure enough? I was thinking of adding some extra security to it but if you can just get a bar in and prize the sides off them with ease I won't bother.

Has anyone got or had one of the pull down covers that you screw to the floor and wall and it rolls over your bike like a tent?

Really need something to keep the weather off the bike, I want to get it to pristine condition and keep it that way, not sure if I want just a normal cover, are they good enough?

I have considered the ramp option, and do actually have a ramp, but I can see myself dropping the bike from time to time whilst trying to pull it out backwards. Not a massive conservatory either, so wouldn't be much room to manouvre or straighten up first etc..

That lived in there, spun from the kickstand.

Plus it would be nice to have the conservatory back as a conservatory, and easier as a whole to have the bike outside.

Haha oh my, you have it much harder than me. I suppose you don't have to worry about going the gym if you do that on a regular basis.

Suppose I could make a wide permanent concrete ramp or something.

Any she's not going to be massively secure.

Most garage doors aren't either.

Get a ground anchor or similar in the shed and consider an alarm system (more to alert you).

Sheds (as I've been keeping an eye out recently) can often be got for not much second hand.

If you consider the shed as just a metallic all weather cover, and install a good deep concrete floor with anchors sunk in, then the lack of security from the shed wont be a big deal

Yeah both fair points, I think I will end up building something myself. Will cost the same as a shed but be alot more secure and a customiseable size. Then I will stick the ground anchor and alarms in it aswell.

Mind you, the bike is now sitting comfortably in the conservatory Laughing

Looking at second hand prices; considerably less money than the materials would likely cost for one in ok nick it seems. Could probably then cut it down to suit.

When I had a driveway, I used a Gorilla Lock. These are expensive but I really liked it.

These things are cemented into the drive, definitely stop the local scrotes (they had a go and couldn't get the bike out) and seems to defeat more determined scumbags.

Before it, I had two motorbikes stolen from in front of my house (admittedly one of them was chained with an Oxford lock.) After buying a GL, no-one stole anything but then again, I bought a less theft-prone bike.

Also, I always dreamed of riding my motorbike into my drive and having it locked 'automatically.' I always hated faffing around in the rain chaining something up. Why shouldn't a motorbike be just as easy to secure as a car?
