Back in 2013 I had already been struggling for a year or so to find an album I used to chuck on when I had long rides to do, I started a thread (clicky), probably not much worth reading, basically I was far too vague and had no luck.

Today I heard a song by chance, and by the powers of google was able to work out that the album I was after was the 2008 ministry of sound Mash up mix. Pretty standard housey sort of mix but I'd still like to download it if I can.

Problem is there are no seeds on any of the torrent sites, I don't think I want it enough to pay for (I do actually pay for music sometimes), is there any way I can still download it? I'm sure I've downloaded 0 seed torrents in the past but I'm having no luck this time around.

Get an invitation to a private torrent site. The good ones have absolutely every album, ever.

Unlikely as this is not possible unless you got really lucky and one person had parts of the torrent and another had the other parts but no one had the whole thing which would be a strange situation.

Buy it, £1.80 used ain't bad but if you can find it online, it will be easily rippable if not directly downloadable.

Er, Borg and Omega, what's wrong with my post? I found the OP a free download of the box set he wants. My post is the most helpful one in the thread. Don't you understand torrenting?

The world's smallest violin player, just for you!

It's not the most helpful post ever if the torrents are on a private site.

Isn't it bleeding obvious that if you want to join the site you just need to ask for an invite? There appear to be 2 members of the site posting in this thread, which suggests there may be many others at BCF. And being fellow BCFers we're supposed to be helping each other, aren't we? You'd have to be pretty fucking dense to conclude that I only posted the info about the torrent because I wanted to boast about my super duper exclusive site which the OP isn't allowed access to.

Unfortunately it's finally dawned on the music industy that most people will grab something for nothing if they can, and they've now got going on shutting down any free music portal they can find. I can see their point, but it's annoying for people like me who just want fresh copies of albums I bought in the 1980s for ludicrous amounts like £20 (1980s money) because the music industry basically fleeced us with those amazing Compact Discs.

Anybody else ripped all their CDS in the mid 00s at some ridiculously low bit rate like 128K and now face the task of doing it again at 256K.

I used to try and get as many songs as possible on my Philips 1gb mp3 player.

Now I have a phone with a 64GB Micro SD, so storage no longer an issue.
