I had a play on a friend's VFR today. it has a few minor issues. One of them is is puzzling me though: when the bike is running and in gear, moving the clutch lever makes a sound like a squeaky hinge. If it happend under any other conditions I;d be looking at the clutch lever pivot, as it appears to be coming from somewhere near the lever. I doubt it is going to be imminently dangerous. Any ideas?

I can't really offer any advice, but isn't it a hydraulic clutch on the 800 too?

Yes it's hydraulic.

Just launch some lube at it, meh.

Yes it's hydraulic. Lever pivot is lubed. Sound is not coming from there. Clutch action feels as smooth as the rest of the bike.

I wonder if the hydraulic system is working like a stethoscope and what we're hearing is something going on at the other end? This only happens when moving the clutch lever when the bike is running and in gear.
