I've got my CBT tomorrow and I'm not sure what shoes I should wear, it says on the email wear tough leather shoes/boots which cover your ankles , however I do not own any tough leather shoes/boots. I only have trainers, will they still allow me to do my CBT if I wear firm trainers with good grip?

A CBT on a sunday? Confused

You where emailed to wear sufficient safety gear well in advance I assume and therefore if they turn you away don't be surprised, wear what you've got as it's to late now.

As for what shoes.
If its sunny, flip flops

Of course you can wear trainers.
You certainly won't be the first and not the last, either.

You are unlikely to get sent away just because of that.
But they are likely to give a gentle lecture on the merits of wearing sturdier boots.

When I done my CBT (I believe that was on a Sunday too), we had about an 1 1/2 hours on the importance of wearing all the protective gear, but then told the only legal requirement is the crash helmet

My religion forbids me from wearing things touched by the great unwashed so I bought everything beforehand, except during my Get On session where I wore a turban and welding gauntlets.
Everything but trousers were available at my training school though.

What the hell is wrong with kids these days?

We had 1 the other week, wanting to know what was on the theory test, a couple of days after the post.

Now we have somebody who has booked a CBT, been emailed with what to wear, then at 9pm the evening before, hasn't sorted out footwear, and doesn't know what to use.

I fear for this planet Sad

I'd go with those then.

What do you plan to do then, run alongside the motorbike with your extra grippy trainers?

I crashed during my CBT in the car park area doing emergency stops so yes some protective clothing could be a good idea.

Could get some working boots for £30-40, would be better than trainers.

To be honest you could turn up wearing flippers and still be perfectly legal although you may have problems on a geared bike.

OP has flounced in the face of mild adversity.

Agree with the comments above - kids = mongoloid spaztards and meathead spunkbubbles these days

Flounced because these little miracles have their heads filled by all and sundry about what wonderful people they are
for their entire short lives. How they can accomplish anything, how they are so very special, how taking part is the
important thing, not winning. Must be quite a shock reaching semi-adulthood and suddenly finding out that
actually you are a brainless, useless, unemployable little mong who reveals their cataclysmic stupidity every
single time they open their spot encrusted little mouth. It all went wrong when they abolished the cane.

Or you get people like my daughter who thought that passing her CBT would be easy because "biking is in her blood" Laughing

And who was consequently quite frustrated to discover she couldn't work the gears immediately, so threw a tantrum (that would be her Italian heritage, not mine!), refused to suffer the ignominy of being put onto an automatic - and was back home before midday Laughing

I'd rather she didn't ride bikes anyway - far too dangerous for my little princess.

100% agree.
I left school just after this happened and the difference I noticed in kids attitudes still in school was astonishing.
Unfortunately, today's little gems have been dragged up by parents who didn't have the cane as a deterrent which is a major reason why today's monster are monsters.
It frustrates my kids to see today's society because of the respect and decency I've instilled in them.

Sounds like op wouldn't know how to tie the laces on whatever footwear he chose anyway.
