Just thought I would drop in and say hi, I have been in Australia for the last 10 years where I started riding in 2011. After a year on a CBR 250 I had a couple of years on a Daytona and have been riding a BMW R1150GS for the last 18 months or so.

I moved back to the UK last week, am staying in Redruth for a couple of weeks with family and will be moving to Swindon at the end of October.

I test rode and fell in love with a ZZR 1400 over the weekend but need to land a job before I can finance a new bike, as soon as I have wheels then I will be looking for people to ride with.

You can expect a whole bunch of dumb questions about how stuff works here, things have changed a bit while I have been away...

Cheers

Steve

I don't know why, but your name makes me want to say:

"A census taker came to test me. I ate his meringue with some whipping cream and a nice cup of tea."

What's the rules with an Aussie licence in UK? Is it a straight exchange as in you don't need to do a UK test?

Pretty much. I didn't have a UK bike licence before I left so I have to hand in my Aus licence to get a new UK licence with bike entitlement on it. I can ride/drive on my Aus licence for a year before I have to swap it in but it looks like insurance companies will add 30% or so to my premium until I have a UK licence

Hi boom, so you moved from oz, to Redruth??? That's not good lol. Can I take a guess you test rode the zzr from Kawasaki centre lanner? If so I had a blast on that one on Friday, unfortunately a bit out of my price range and I knew that before riding it, I just wanted a blast on it. Had a look a the z1000 down there as well, was thoroughly dissapointed in that one but loved the zzr. We are near enough neighbours as I'm only in Camborne.

Yup, Kwaka in Lanner. They let me play with the ZX10, the 14 and the Busa they have got there. I am looking at financing a new 14 as soon as I have landed a job.

I am only in 'druth because my other half is from here and we are staying at the inlaws until we get the keys for our rental in Swindon in a week or so.

Could be up for a beer if you have any free time, had dinner in Tyacks last night with friends.
