It's not what you ride, it's that you ride...

True or false?

I was ignored today by a guy on a CBR 600 at traffic lights, presumably because I'm a learner on a 125 or he may just have been a prick.

It doesn't particularly bother me but it got me thinking about biker snobbery, when I get my licence I certainly won't be ignoring L platers at the lights when they're right beside me saying hello.

What's your line of respect? Learners? Chinese bikes? Mopeds? Harleys?

All people are cunts. They don't just turn into cunts when they go on the road. Cuntishness is part of the human condition.

I'm too busy enjoying myself to worry about other road users and their feelings towards me. They invented tinted visors and loud cans for a reason.

Ignored in what way? Did you merely nod at him, or did you start shouting "MOTORCYCLING IS REALLY GREAT ISN'T IT? IT'S LOVELY, SO LOVELY! ALL BIKERS ARE MY BROTHERS! DON'T YOU AGREE? I BET THAT'S FAST ISN'T IT? BET YOU PULL THE BIRDS ON THAT DON'T YOU? I'll HAVE ONE ONE DAY!! BIKING IS SO COOL, HEY WHERE ARE YOU GOING? COME BACK!"

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Razz

A simple nod to say hello. Don't get me wrong here, my feelings aren't hurt, I don't really give a shit. I'm just curious as to the collective thoughts on biker snobbishness.

I wonder if the CBR rider was also the van driver and he found you stopping in front of him, getting off the bike and telling him exactly what you thought to be disrespectful.

Upload the videos of the van incident and the CBR rider ignoring you at the traffic lights. Thumbs Up

The van incident is too incriminating and the CBR rider wasn't on cam.

I nodded at someone a few weeks ago, then realised it was a 125 so gave him the fucky finger.

You mad?

No need to be so serious. Forums are for discussing these things after all. I'm not crying in the corner, just asking questions and sussing this bike stuff out.

I nod when I have my suspension setting on '2 up with luggage' and then hit a pothole.

It's very random who I nod to.

I mostly ride in London, so nodding is out of the question. I respect everyone but pizza delivery boys, those stupid three-wheeled twatmobiles and Mr GS Ewan "allthepanniers" Boorman just sitting there behind two cars in the middle of two lanes. Just get out of the fucking way you cunt.

While I'm on my hobby-horse, that brotherhood-honor hand clasp can sod right back off to the Blue Oyster Bar where it belongs.

Don't sweat it, it just means you weren't his type.
