I wanna sell my Yammy SR125 in the next coupla months but I'm not sure whether to get rid for S+R price or to get her MOT ready before selling?

Needs carbs cleaned + new fuel filter
Battery charged
Crack in the headlight panel glued
new oil and brake fluid probably
new right hand switches (Start button gone- starts with screwdriver)
side panel (not essential)

It's a '96 and the engine runs fine when the battery's charged but i'm just not sure that work with be worth the effort Neutral

Anyone reckon I could fetch 3 or 400 as is?

Not sure why you'd be cleaning the carb if it 'runs fine'.

None of that is necessary for an MOT, as long as you can get it started.

For £30 I'd put a year's ticket on it, or else you'll be competing with the many (many many) "just needs some TLC / was running fine before it wasn't" 125s on Gumtree.

Costs you nothing to ask £400 as-is, but with that list of issues and a short MOT I'd expect to be offered a case of Tennents (offer subject to withdrawal if Senga gets stuck intae them).

Also, another Weegie: is somebody putting up fliers? Eh?

"Fine" not "Great" Very Happy doesn't splutter or anything just havent cleaned them in a while

But aye thanks I reckon I'll take heed, was just trying to get some validation for my laziness.

Most of that isn't going to be worth the money, but some bits are worth doing:

I'd do the switch gear as it's only a tenner: clicky

I'd possibly do an oil change if I had the oil already, watery black oil will turn off any potential buyer with their head on straight.

Side panel? Possibly, for a tenner I would: clicky

Those basic bits would make the difference between a bike coming across as a shed that somebody has not spent a penny on, and a well used but otherwise alright 125. For £20 I reckon you'd make more than the cost of parts back.

If you start looking at spending hundreds you're barking up the wrong tree.

Wild thought, is this a black / dark blue SR125 that can be seen commuting down Broomielaw of an afternoon?

Excellent, I think I will. Thank you Smile !

P.S. has anyone else had something as arbitrary as a side panel nicked?

Who are the these side panel nickers and what do they do with a my shitty old side panel?

In time honoured BCF fashion I will offer you five ponds for it, if you can deliver to Milton Keynes.

If you don't want to be plagued with offers like that, then do the work and put a years ticket on it before you sell it.
