Thumbs Up for that.

It's been available for a while but (up to recently) only with the V5 number. I guess the question of "Yehbut but why I need V5 tho?" has been answered with a resounding "No reason, we were just fucking with you. Laughing"

At this point if you're not not disclosing your vehicle's VRM when selling it, I assume that you've got something to hide.

What circumstances might cause a vehicle's registration to come up saying "No vehicle that matched the data you entered could be found."

Shocked

If their licence checker is anything to go by, the website is infallible and therefore your bike simply does not exist.

No proof to the contrary is sufficient evidence that their computers might have it wrong, up to and including riding the bike to their offices and letting them lay their hands all over it.

Of course you might have just made a typo with the Reg number?

Nope, because I took the reg number from the bike's last MOT, which I am holding in my hand...

(in fact it ran out yesterday, and I knew that it did, but I wanted to test the website)

I've even checked that a "zero" in the reg number is not accidentally put in as an "oh"

Other than mis-typing a digit (like I did)?
If it's had MOTs before it must be on their system.
If it's a vehicle you just bought and the plate is not legit well who knows, could be stupid mistake or...rather serious.

A bit surprising anyone view the miles covered, almost too much information if someone was trying to snoop on you.

Well ...

O vs 0
It's fairly obvious but as it is an easy to make mistake, I did check it anyway.

The logbook shows that reg, and so does the paper MOT.

When checked askMID , it shows up with the correct make and engine size.

Fuck! Now I'll have to find my reminder notice and check the 16 digit number, see what that comes up with.

Shocked

I was about to get one of the chaps to run it through an MOT for me. Now ... grrrrr, WT actual F?

The MOT was done three days before I bought the bike (a year ago). When I bought it, I was given some previous MOTs (although not ones from the directly previous years).

The last one before this (2009) was done by the same guy as the current one.

Also there was an HPI check, which was clear*, although it records that the bike was noted as previously being a different colour before 1992.

Hmmmmm.

*although V5 and NMR were not checked

Oh, hey ... I never thought of using it as a method of spying on previously-owned bikes.

Can't remember the regos of any of my earlier bikes anyway Rolling Eyes
