Are you sure you're not confusing petite pois with mange tout?

Petite pois are simply what we'd call slightly smaller than average garden peas, and that's hard to gauge without some average sized peas to compare them to.

I bought a packet of Cadbury's Giant Dairy Milk buttons today. And there was a regular Dairy Milk button in the packet.
I was going to take a photo and complain, but I am too much of a chocoholic and ate it before getting my phone out of my pocket.

Chips and peas.
Fish chips, peas and curry.
Chips,peas and gravy.
Fishcake, chips and peas.

Those are the only peas I know.

I'm with you on that. They are not petite pois. I would say anything over 6mm diameter is a regular pea.

Take them back.

Report the bastards to the EU, no doubt there's a whole ministry devoted to petit pois regulation who will invest millions of Euros in a pan-European enquiry. May as well get our money's worth before we tell them to fuck off in 2017.

To be fair, it serves OP bloodywell right for going all posh, should have stuck with mushy peas, especially in Yorkshire. Whatever next? drinking tea from a cup and saucer instead of a cracked mug?

I bought a multi pack of Flakes a few months ago, 4 in a pack which was on offer. Thought I'd got myself a bargain until the last flake turned out to be 1/3 flake 2/3rds empty pack. (unopened I might add)
Not just taking it on the chin I sent it to the complaints dept with a letter detailing my disappointment. I heard nothing.
The fact I'm taking time to type this shows how hurt I am about the whole ordeal. Mad

No mushy peas fans? That green slop you get in a can that smells like someone threw up in there and sealed it up? Puke

Anyhoo....I like my peas small and I'm being ripped off Mad

I'm guessing the garden pea harvest was big this year and they're selling them as everything to get rid.

Deffo mushy pea fan here. Years ago ie 50+, I used to make my own but being a lazy sod I now buy the tinned type. By heck there is a big difference in quality from the different suppliers

Best, in my view, are the tinned mushies form Lockwoods. Not full of green dye and at least when you open a can of their mushies what comes out is a tin shaped lump. Last week I bought some Harry Ramsdens - NEVER again. Bright synthetic dyed geen that practically glowed and a lot of watery stuff came out of the can with sloppy peas. I bought two tins - the one remaining will get used up in a soup because I am not going to insult my fish or pie with that green muck. Very similar for so-called Mushies from Princes. They USED to be ok but the last lot POURED out of the tin. I wrote to them with a complaint and returned one of the tins I had bought. They replied saying their quality people considered they were "up to standard". Bugger that.

Moral. Either make them yourself or if buying in tins shake the tin in the shop. If the contents sound "sloppy", get another brand.

Snod the Mushy fan
