Hi People, As a new member I was hoping that some of you may be able to help me..I am riding to Belgium/Luxembourg next year, and the seat on my Z1000 is finally giving up on me. Having used it for trips to France before, it has slowly got more uncomfterable, so I need to either get it relined or maybe a gel seat?.. Any one tried both before, so can tell me which one works best please?

Any replies would be helpful,,, Thanks

I have ridden a BMW R1150RT without a gel seat, and a Triumph Trophy with one. I have no hesitation at all in recommending the gel. I recently rode round the coast of the UK on my Trophy, often up to 7 hours a day in the saddle, without discomfort. Four was the most I managed on the Beamer, even after adding a lambswool cover, which did help a bit.
Have a great trip.
