I've gone and fecked it now haven't I. What are my options here all. I've looked over the cover and there appear to be hairline cracks in a number of places so I'm tempted to just replace it all together.

It's off a B12 K3 and has the pair system still in place. Would a 600 rocker cover go on it? Not sure how different they are.

For the mean time though, looks like I'm taking the fiat to work. black eye.

I was too god damn lazy to get my torque wrench out. Lesson Learned.

Cheers

Not sporty enough so now on my GSXR 1000 K3 and absolutely love it. 1 year down the line, nearly died way too many times on this bike. Sold it. Had a 6 month break. Well aren't you the helpful one.

OP, I don't believe that they're interchangeable. Best off finding a second-hand one on eBay if cost is an issue. They're not exactly cheap new.

For future reference, if you can't be arsed to get a torque wrench out (which I am guilty of, too), do it up to the point where it bites (finger tight) when tightening with an allen key, then go a further quarter-turn. That's typically enough for these things, although a torque wrench is the recommended way to go. You shouldn't have to strain to tighten anything non-load-bearing up on a bike.

Shouldn't actually be possible to pull that through by over-tightening the cam cover bolts. The bolts bottom out on the cam caps to set the distance.

Unless someone shimmed/doubled up on the rubbers.
