After being convinced by the internet experts that Chinese bikes are crap ive gotten myself a Yamaha r125. Its a 4 years old and has 250miles on it.

Looking through the manual it says for the first service to change the oil after 600 miles or 6 weeks (which ever comes first) Obviously its well past that. Should the oil be changed or should it be left untill 600 miles?

Secondly the manual says to change the Coolant after 3 years and obviously its past that. So does it need changed?

Thanks for your advice Internet Experts Smile

Def change oil. Might as well change coolant too.

Also brake fluid should be changed about every two years. It can be a DIY job if you feel like but that's something you need to be confident in not f***ing up, for obvious reasons.

Oil changed.

Changing it again when it hits 600 miles.

Thought i would just ask this here instead of creating a new thread.

My R125 is missing its front Yamaha logo that is behind the instruments and view able through the screen. Does anyone know the exact size that replaces it? Thanks

The point would be.....?

Save money. It's a cheaply made overpriced 125. Use for experience. When you smash it up over winter that logo will be the least or your worries.

4 Years old with 250 miles?, raises eyebrows IMO.

I'd assume it's had a new engine after being ragged around in it's lifetime, new engines are a regular thing on this model or so it seems.

..

If anything they've always looked nice IMO when they're not being used a skate boards sliding down the road by learner riders, enjoy. Thumbs Up

When i got my 50cc moped last year i looked at Chinese mopeds but i decided to get myself a Piaggio Zip (Chinese made - Italian design) and that bike cost me £900 used and i have used it for 1 whole year solid to get me to college / Work / Shopping / Social... covered 10000 miles with me and the bike has a total of 12000miles (19500Km) and it still works as good as the day i got it. Sold for £650. Looking back i know that a Chinese bike couldn't have done that and still be worth half of a new one.

when i was looking for a 125 and i never had a price limit because i work full time unlike alot of 17 year old parent scroungers. I looked at 3 Chinese bikes at dealers but and i was going to pay straight up £1600 for a Lexmoto Adrenaline but.. I decided that it wasn't the kind of bike i wanted. I found a 2011 Yamaha YZF r125 online with 250miles on it. I went to view the bike and i wanted to know its story. The bike was bought for his daughter and she got scared of it after dropping it on a pavement. The Guy replaced the front fairing and boomerang on the right side. ( Im guessing the reason for the missing sticker ) The bike then sat in his heated garage for 4 years and the daughter got a horse. The price was good at £2700 IMO!

Im Happy with my bike and i don't care if its overpriced and that i should have just gotten myself a £300 Honda Cg because that's all you need apparently.

You do get learner bikes come up for sale with very low mileage, people buy them and either fall off or just decide they're too dangerous and it ends up neglected in the shed while the woner learns to drive a car.

Anyway...OP..that sticker, is it No 33 on here?

The part number is 5B2F-413B-0000, just try googling it with "Yamaha" in front.
