kevlar hoodies

most of my riding is low speed 20-40mph in london so prefer to wear light clothing like kevlar jeans and textile jacket.

just wondering if anyone has a ForceRider kevlar hoodie or similar and would recommend?

I have a non-armoured kevlar lined jumper that I bought a few years back.

It lacks any water or wind proofing so only really works in warm weather. For which it's far too hot. Like a lot of my impulse purchases, I've only worn it a few times.

A zip-up one with armour might be a bit more practical, mind.

I considered one but decided not to because

1 - I think in a crash when you slide it is going to slide up your body exposing at least your lower back. I have no proof of this, I tried one on at a stall at a bike show though and it was loose fitting enough to reinforce this thought.

2 - They won't really be suitable most of the year in UK weather. If it rains you are going to get soggy. If it's sunny you are going to bake. They probably suit a handful of time at the tail end of spring and arse end of summer when the temperature is a bit chilly and there is no chance of rain.

I've got one and can echo the sentiments above. They are REALLY hot in the summer. There's no windproofing at all so if you pick up any speed at all you'll be cold. The armour is OK but (thankfully) not tried it out but could imagine it riding up at any speed over 25mph.

They are warm when worn under a leather jacket though or even a large un-armoured coat so if you're going for that option, then I'd recommend them.
