I have somehow been given Y7 and Y8 textiles groups to teach, our project is on the theme of "The Day Of The Dead" and the kids have to make a cushion in the shape of a skull. As this is not my true forte I thought I should have a go myself.I have used CAD CAM, cross stitch, back stitch, running stitch, applique, reverse applique and a couple of sequins.
I am quite pleased with my efforts and it is NOT going on the back of my leathers.
Any of you partial to a spot of embroidery?

Nope. But I did do a batik celtic knotwork shirt the other week.

I made a spraydeck a month or so back.

I made this knife and sheath a few years ago. The sheath is made from 3mm cowhide and is hand stitched.

Yes, but not any that I can show you pictures of.

I learnt how to tie dye at school, when it was still relatively fashionable - the key is to get a good coating of wax on the string.

I also used to do a lot of embroidery, a skill I learned from my Dad.

Good thread. Geddit?

Loads of dresses and such, but I likes me a bit of embroidery.

Sadly, the collar doesn't match the cuffs.

Fuck yeah tie-dye. Made this years ago.

Actually not really tie die on account of it being kind of screwed into a ball and dyed. Central motif done by freehand dribbling of candle wax.

I had a really cool "inverse" tie-dye t-shirt I did by dunking a tied up black t-shirt into household bleach. Left it in for too long though and it started to disintegrate after a couple of months.

I approve of the ballbag nose.
Had no idea kids in the UK were learning about the day of the dead.

Sadly my needlepoint skills are gash.
