Paint stripper suitable for fairings?

I need some fairings back to bare plastic (or the colour moulded in)

Any recommendations of paint stripper to use? need to brush it on and wipe it off.

I know Nitromors isn't plastic safe (it doesn't list plastic in the material suitable)

Sand-Paper & Elbow Grease!

Most panel plastics are usually a polystyrene 'based' plastic, and most common solvents, certainly paint thinner's or strippers will attack them. (THANK-YOU SO MUCH, Snowie, for 'proving' that o my side-panels!)

To get through layers of paint and decals, I find that the most 'expedient' method is a sharp scraper and water.

A stanley blade with the corners rounded, or an old butter knife I have ground and keep re-grinding stanley blade sharp, that I use like a razor to 'shave' as much as I dare as close back to 'base' as I can, before getting in with the wet and dry; mainly 'cos it takes so much wet & dry to get down that far, and decals and stickers are a PITA!

But, old faithful, sand-paper and effort.. may be slow, but it works!

Can't you just rough up the paint on the fairings with sandpaper and paint on top. Why do you need to get down to the plastic?

I was hoping there was going to be a quick easy solution to this one too

I've mixed 1/3 nitromors with 2/3 dichloromethane (took me 2 litres to figure out that was the right mix), for stripping paint off metal, unfortunately for the plastics it f**ks them up even before it's stripped the paint properly.

@ monkeybiker - maybe Wonko has the same problem I have, where the bike has been resprayed in the past, it wasn't done properly and ends up with hundreds of little blisters (sorry for the poor image quality), which I've started attacking with wet & dry

I've got two sections of dashboard infill one is in primer and the other primer over bizarre paint.

I had intended to spray them matte black but have changed my mind as I'm not convinced it'll look good for long so want to get back to the natural graphite grey colour of the plastic and match the one good infill on the bike.
