Sounds like he spun up the rear and continued applying the throttle whilst trying to brake.

Square part in the road was a little bump and the rear wheel lost traction, panicked and braked throwing himself off?

Looks like the rear wheel slid on that, back end stepped out, grabbed front brake and the angle of the front wheel got too much (full lock going left)

I'm not sure the patch in the road caused a slide. I think he was steeling himself for what he thought was going to be a fast bit of cornering, was distracted by the bump in a big way, panicked and grabbed brake and clutch. Worst possible reaction but instinctive when you're a newbie, poor fella.

Obviously hasn't learnt the painful lesson about not grabbing the front brake - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lsYiMOLew4

He kept the throttle open and tried to brake with the front brake at the same time. You can hear the revs rise at the rear spins up.

I think he should go to 125 not 250. It's dangerous. How did he pass 250 license?

edit: US license didn't have engine size difference.

That might have been his first time on it, but scary that anyone can be let out with so little idea.
