My VFR has Scorpion Trails. They are fine in dry conditions, but feel a bit squirrelly in the cold and wet. I gather they are a supposed to be a compromise for on-road/off-road, but the only time I see dirt and gravel is in parking lots, so I don't really need to compromise. Plus, winter is coming.
On my previous bike, I had BT021 (decent), BT T30 (good) and Michelin Pilot Road 3s (very good). The only downside with the PR3s were that they seem to wear a bit oddly -- a bit of a bulge down the middle and wearing to either side, instead of squaring off. But they were so grippy, I'm leaning toward Pilot Road 4s. I assume I want the standard, not the GT? What others should I consider?
My current tyres have about 7,500 miles on them. The front is looking close to needing replacement. The rear has plenty of tread, but it's mildly squared off and I'm not that happy with them, so will probably change front and back at the end of the month. ____________________ Current: '14 VFR800X Test passed 31/10/12.

I'm very happy with PR1 and 2. Excellent value.
Metzeler is launching new sports touring tyres in January as well - Roadtec 01. Most of my friends like this brand. ____________________ MCForum meetup - One of the biggest motorcycle clubs in UK |
