A youth asked me if a female member of staff was my "nurse" he had a rather conspiratorial grin on his face and his friend thought it was funny, was he implying that I am old and need looking after or that I am boning her?

See in the good old days you could have given him a clip around the ears...or a firm bum fingering and sent the cheeky rascal on his way.

Thing is, once you're over 30 you are ancient in their eyes.
I'm so old kids ask me if I'm still alive.

I do not condone bum fingering...Besides being totally wrong it also makes your fingers smelly.

I got asked by some young kid recently if I was really old. Never seen him before, nor him me. So that's it then. What do Werther's Originals taste like?

P.S. All kids know that if you're past 30, you ain't boning anyone. That would just be disgusting.

When I was 25 my Dad (then 50) announced that he and his (then) 40 year old wife were having a baby. I was appalled.

It's bad enough knowing your parents had sex (at least once, to get you) but a 50 year old and a 40 year old? I honestly thought it was physically impossible and possibly illegal* for old gronkers to do sex.

That baby is now 31 (do your own maths) which makes me even older than Dad was back then.

Sid's bit younger than me, but by a 25 year old's standards we're both ancient.

That is all. Shhh!

*Sid & I have been told sex at our age is illegal, but only if you're caught doing it in the freezer aisle. This may be why we're not allowed in Asda anymore Wub Embarassed

What else can they ask? Our generation's standard question was "what did you do in the war, Daddy?" No, things just ain't the same anymore Sad

I've gone beyond worrying about kids thinking I'm old, it's been happening for so long now, I'm past caring.

But I had to take a work colleague to hospital recently - he's 30 and as he walked into the reception area, the nurse at the desk asked me if I was his Father - WTF is that all about! Shocked

Only kids know. Older people use them for revenge on kids asking nasty questions

You have staff?

Just tell the youths they've all done very well, then enjoy their bafflement.

I asked him what he meant as I need to know to fill out his detention form correctly, either he was being disrespectful about Ms ***** or he was being rude to me.

In the summer I was listening to music in the van with the window down. A girl of no more than 12 shouted while I was at a crossing "that music isn't for you that's for us!"

The band I was listening to? Nirvana.

I'm 34.

I feel old.

When I were a lad the teacher would have asked me to go and clean the blood and chalkdust out of my hair, and do the same for the eraser.

My wife came home from her school in a funny mood a while back, when asked what was wrong she said a girl had asked her what it was like to wear a crinoline.

II laughed, which was the wrong response. Laughing

Fuck that. I was 21 when Nevermind came out. That's my music not some young whippersnapper of 34.

My wife and I went to a Green Day gig a few years ago. It doesn't matter that I was 20 when I bought their debut album - We still looked like parents trying desperately to be cool by taking their kids to a gig. 99% of the audience were teenagers.

It's funny... Billy Joe is in his 40's, yet even though you're closer to his age, you're the odd ball... I'm sure he's not missing all the teen poon he's getting though!
